A question raised at the last AGM was that although there is a Beauty Contest at the AGM each year for the Best Nerine and the Best non-nerine Amaryllid, there is nothing that members can enter with plants that flower at other times of the year. This was taken as a good point and so the committee has decided to hold a competition in 2021 as an experiment.
Members have submitted photographs of plants in the Amaryllidacaeae grown by them which flowered between January 1st 2021 and May 31st 2021. Members can vote by email to email@example.com for what they judge to be the best plant (rather than best photograph) —one vote per member.
Voting closes at Midnight Sunday 20th June.
The result will be announced in our journal, Amaryllids , 2021 Part 3.

Nerine flexuosa from the Fish River, photo taken on 13 March 2021. The atypical microclimate of the escarpment gives us a Spring flowering Nerine.
