The Nerine and Amaryllid Society

Welcome to our website!

The Nerine and Amaryllid Society is affiliated to the RHS. It is for everybody  with an interest in this enormously fascinating and varied group of plants.

The society, which was originally formed as The Nerine Society with sole interest in Nerines, has now extended its field of interest to include other plants within the family of Amaryllidaceae, such as Agapanthus, Alliums, Daffodils, Hippeastrum and Snowdrops.

The Society aims to cater for all levels of interest and knowledge, from the professional to the amateur, for those with a large collection of plants and for those who simply like to admire.

Our activities and features include:

Journal 3 times a Year

Annual Visits to Nerine Growers

Visits to Other Amaryllid Collections

Exchanges of Bulbs of Nerines and other Amaryllids

AGM with Speakers and Competitions

Gold medal winning stand at Malvern Autumn Shows

An Award for Significant Developments in Breeding
