Malvern Autumn Show
The society has been exhibiting at the RHS Malvern Autumn Show for many years and in the last six years has been awarded a silver-gilt medal and five gold medals.
There was no Malvern Autumn Show held in 2020 because of the Covid-19 Pandemic, but in Spring 2021, NAAS participated in a Virtual Plant Show and included a video of our stand. To view the video, click here.

Another highly attractive and informative display, carefully planned and produced, awarded a Silver Gilt Medal this year. Such is the difference one mark makes!

NAAS again exhibited at the Show and were awarded another Gold Medal. Many congratulations to the team whose ideas and hard work were so well recognised.

Congratulations to two of our NAAS members who enjoyed success on their own stands; both Steve Hickman of Hoyland Plant Centre and Chris Osbourne of Kelnan Plants were awarded Gold Medals, with Chris also receiving a Cultural Commendation for his Haemanthus albiflos.

This year's stand incorporated a small greenhouse to demonstrate that Nerine Bowdenii are hardy and that N. Sarniensis need protection.

The colourful and varied display of Amaryllids other than Nerines included the rare, huge Brunsvigia Litoralis forming a seed head, lent by Steve Hickman.
Some delightful arrangements by Sue Bedwell showed the use of a variety of Amaryllid blooms as cut flowers.

In the background are two posters with information about the NAAS Expedition in 2015 to the orginal locations in the Eastern Cape of South Africa from where the first examples of Nerine Bowdenii were sent back to Devon by Athelstan Cornish-Bowden in 1897.
