There are two growers of Nerines on the Isle of Wight who, every year, welcome members of NAAS to visit. Ken Hall is at Springbank Nursery where he cultivates both hardy Nerines and Nerine sarniensis. Chris Edwards is a keen breeder of N. sarniensis in Newport.
After a break in 2020 because of the Coronavirus pandemic, members were again invited to view the Nerines grown by members Ken Hall and Chris Edwards.
(Thanks to member Helen Brown for the photos in the slideshow.)
Once again, members were invited to view Nerines at Springbank Nursery.
Beautiful Nerine Sarniensis produced and cared for by Chris.
And this year, some beautiful Nerine blooms grown by Howard, another NAAS member on the Isle of Wight.
Visit to Ken Hall at Springbank Nursery.
Over the years, Chris Edwards has bred many Nerine sarniensis seedlings which have produced wonderful blooms. Although part of his collection of plants is now in the care of Steve Eyre at Bickham, he still has a fabulous display in his own greenhouses.
